Fall Lassi with Cinnamon and Cardamom
As we move into Fall, it’s imperative to keep our digestion as strong as possible. A great way to do that is by having a post-meal digestive treat. This Fall lassi is perfect for getting your probiotics each day (which helps with immune function) and by adding some digestive spices, it’s a powerhouse beverage that you’ll get addicted to really quickly.
What you’ll need:
¼ c. whole milk organic yogurt
¼ c. filtered water (nothing from a plastic bottle!)
½ tsp organic ceylon cinnamon
½ tsp organic ground cardamom
1 tsp maple syrup (more if you prefer)
⅛ tsp freshly ground nutmeg (optional)
Crack of himalayan sea salt
Mix all ingredients in a glass and stir till it comes to a smooth consistency. Sometimes I’ll use my milk frother to get it nice and creamy. You can add the fresh ground nutmeg if you’re enjoying it after dinner. It’s a great spice that helps with sleep, which is lovely! Be creative with it, if you enjoy putting other spices in, try it out and see how it tastes. Sometimes I’ll put some turmeric in there or shatavari.
Make sure you’re sitting down and really enjoying the flavors and texture of the drink as you consume it. I like to go on my back porch and take a few minutes after I’ve eaten to just see how my body feels and notice all the flavors of my lassi. Report back! Let me know if you like it and how your digestion changes.
