Distract Yourself!
Ever feel like your mind (or just life) is constantly finding ways to distract you? Yeah, me too!…
There are times lately when I just feel SO distracted, by news (I mean there is A LOT going on right now), by social media, by other people’s dramas… it’s constant sometimes.
And then I had this thought the other day, “let yourself be distracted.” But here’s the caveat, the distractions are intensional to get me back to a sense of focused energy on my work, life, and dharmic path (what I’m here to do in my lifetime).
I have been allowing myself intentional times that bring myself back to feeling good in my body each day. I give myself permission to be distracted by things that I know get me feeling fast-tracked back to a focused energy.
What does that look like for me?
Well, sunset hikes are my favorite distraction. Leo (my pup) and I hoof it up the hill by our house and just meander in silence with one another. It’s a time that I let my doing-mind go and tap into all my senses. I notice the colors around me. I listen for the sounds of wildlife. I feel the evening breeze touch my skin. I get wafts of different flora around me. It is a really magical time and I appreciate it being a moment of pause from the crazy.
So, let yourself be distracted and tell me how it goes.
